WANG, HAI-BOH
Passed away quietly in the early morning of Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the age of 84. Dr. Wang was born in Hebei Province in China in 1934 and his family fled China to Taiwan after World War II before the communist regime. He served in the Taiwanese navy and was the first of his family to immigrate to the United States. He enrolled at the University of Massachusetts and obtained a doctorate in structural engineering and worked at a Boston firm designing concrete shells for nuclear containment structures. In 1983, Dr. Wang moved to Maryland as an inspector for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, from where he retired in 2003 and resettled in Henderson, Nevada, in 2012. He is survived by wife Gwen Wang, daughter Charissa Durst (Donald), son Charles Wang (Chunxiao), sisters Agnes/Haiying Massey (Gene) and Helen/Hailan Tsai (Homer), granddaughter Samantha, grandson Dylan, and numerous nieces/grandnieces and nephews/grandnephews. An informal memorial service will be held on Monday, January 21, at the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Avenue in Henderson, Nevada, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
