Herman Richard Grams, 94, went to be with his Lord on May 5, 2019 at his home in Henderson, Nevada.
Born in Rosendale, Wisconsin on March 27, 1925, he was the son of Gottlieb and Augusta Grams. He graduated from North Central Bible Institute in 1949 and was an Assemblies of God minister for 68 years. He pastored in both St. Peter and Mankato, Minnesota, and in both Lindsay and Santa Barbara, California. He served on the Southern California College school board for twelve years, was a district presbyter for six years, and executive presbyter for nine years, and an area director (overseer of churches) for six years. After leaving full-time ministry over individual congregations, Pastor grams served as interim pastor in seven different churches in California.
Pastor Grams and his beloved wife Elaine enjoyed traveling the world. He led over 17 trips to the Holy Land. His first time to speak overseas was at a base to our servicemen in Seoul, South Korea. After that, he ministered in numerous countries including Malaysia, Japan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Mexico and Argentina. Pastor Grams has touched thousands of lives. For pleasure, his passion for traveling covered over 60 countries.
He will be remembered for his faithfulness and commitment to God and his family. His steadfastness, integrity and love of life were exceptional. He loved studying and teaching God's Word. He often stated he had the best boss, God, and that he had the glorious privilege of serving a lifetime in ministry.
Pastor Grams is survived by three daughters, JeLayne and husband Jim Holden, JacLynn and husband Dale Luehrs, and Joy Baxter, and one son, Bradley and wife Judy, fourteen grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one brother, Monroe. He was preceded in death by Elaine, the love of his life, whom he shared almost 69 years of marriage. He will always be remembered as one who was devoted to the work of God and who faithfully taught the Word throughout the world.
