Hermenegilda graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education. Hermenegilda was a public school teacher in the Philippines for 33 years, and she taught elementary grade students. Her former pupils admired her for her dedication, for her hard work, for being a good disciplinarian, and inspired them to be humble and to excel in their studies to become successful in the future. She has very fond memories of her work experiences with the Bank of America, and even proud in showing off her service ring given by the bank, which she was still wearing on up to the time of her death.
Hermenegilda loves Filipino food, especially pancit palabok. She has fond memories of the different seafoods and native delicacies that she used to cook in the Philippines.
