Hermon Eugene "Gene" Raynor was born in Boise, Idaho on January 11, 1945 and raised in Henderson, Nevada. He was a Boulder City resident for his remaining years. He was a Veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 29, 2021. He is now in paradise with our Lord and Savior with his mother and father (Dorothy & Hermon Raynor) and many other beloved friends and family. There is no more pain, no more sorrows; he is fully restored in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Gene is survived by his loving wife (Louise Raynor), daughter (Leslie "Toots" Adams), son-in-law (Greg Adams), sons (David & Ron Raynor) and granddaughters (Madison Adams, Genevieve and Alexandra Raynor), brothers Ron & Dale Raynor, sister Sharon Resler, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He considered all of his friends a part of the Raynor family. Our dad "Pops" & "Papa" to his grandchildren remains our hero, leader and protector. We will miss him everyday and will see him again in heaven.
Gene was a legend to his family and friends and a second dad to some. He instilled the importance of our Lord Jesus and love of family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper and outdoorsman. Many great times and unlimited stories were shared together in the outdoors with family and friends. This is the place that brought him peace. If you knew him, he taught you something whether it was honoring and respecting God's creation, how to survive off of the land and to always put God first in everything that you do.
Our dad, Gene, had many accomplishments in fishing and hunting. This includes being a five-year consecutive club champion in the Southern Nevada bass club. He even won two bass boats fishing with his son's in team fishing championships. Not only was Gene an extraordinary bass angler he was an amazing hunter. He had eagle eyes that spotted things at an unimaginable distance away. He and his sons are even in the Nevada Trappers Hall of fame.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for you to consider making a donation in memory of Gene to the Disabled Veterans charities as they provide many programs that impact military men, woman and disabled veterans. This cause was near and dear to his heart. God bless the USA. In God we trust.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16, KJV
