Ingeborg Pauline Schuster Thewes, of Henderson, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 in Hospice care after an extended fight with lung disease.
Born in Bavaria, Germany, March 17, 1934, to Fritz and Anna nee Bauer Schuster, Inge was a talented cook and seamstress.
It was in Germany where she first met her husband to be, Robert Thewes, a GI stationed there. She immigrated to Colorado in 1957 with plans to become a professional tailor. Robert tracked her down, the two fell in love, moved to Ohio, and were married in 1958.
Inge gave up a professional career to raise her four children in Lakewood, Ohio. Widowed at just 40, and on her own with four small children, Inge took charge of her life. She took an automotive training class where she learned to tune up her car, got her GED, then went to Cuyahoga Community College and became a registered nurse, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1979. She worked as a nurse in various capacities before retiring out in Las Vegas in 1997.
Inge loved her family and was incredibly proud of her four children and ten grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Rob Janelle, Tim Sue, Michelle Tomco Paul, and Ken Patty and her grandchildren, TJ, Alysson, Ty, Tia, Allec, Taylor, Trystan, Austin, Trent, and Emma.
