Jack Valenti

February 9, 1919 — September 16, 2010

Jack was born on February 9, 1919 in New York City. He was the first generation American of Sicilian immigrants.
Jack attended and graduated from Brooklyn Technical Institute. He worked as a typesetter for a large New York printing house.
Jack entered the US Army in October 1941. He was an engineer attached to the 8th Army Air Corp. He served in Europe from July 1942 to September 1945. He was in the DDay invasion of Normandy and at the Battle of the Bulge.
Jack returned to civilian life in October 1945. He married his longtime sweetheart, Anna Lamanno in December 1945. They honeymooned in Miami. Jack and Anna opened a Dry Cleaning and Alterations business in 1946 in Brooklyn, New York.
Jack and Anna had three sons from 1946 to 1954.
Jack went to work at a local brewery, Rheingold, in 1954. He worked there until 1963, when he moved the family to sunny Los Angeles, California. Jack and Anna again started a Dry Cleaning and Alterations business. They retired and moved to Las Vegas in 1985.
Jack led an active life in retirement, traveling, and participating in numerous activities.
Jack leaves behind his loving wife, Anna three sons, Michael, Richard, and Gary along with 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
