James J. Gallagher

James Gallagher, 84 of Henderson NV passed away on August 18, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Joan Gallagher. He is survived by his brother Larry, daughters Judy Gallagher and Wife Pat Meilinger; Eileen Newton and Husband Dennis; Janet Manfredi and Husband John; son Jimmy Gallagher and fiancée Jackie Lombardi; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Lukowski and husband David, Kevin Newton and wife Kristy, John Paul Manfredi and wife Laura, Nicholas Manfredi, Joseph Manfredi, Kayla Gallagher, Jimmy Gallagher, and Matthew Gallagher; 6 Great Grandchildren David Lukowski, Samantha Lukowski, Ethan Lukowski, Jeffrey Newton, James Newton and Anthony Manfredi; nephews Matt Gallagher and Kevin Gallagher. Jim served in the US Army during the Korean War and received commendation as a Morse Code Operator. Jim was extremely proud of his 30 year career with the New York City Fire Department. He retired in 1987 with the rank of Lieutenant. He was an exceptional artist and enjoyed a good cigar and his pipe with a glass of his favorite scotch. He loved his family very much and was always there for them. His family deeply loved him and will miss him dearly. Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, 2015 4pm to 7pm at Davis Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 24 at 10am at St Viator Church with burial to follow at Davis Funeral Home.
