James W. Hougaard

James Jim Wilford Hougaard, born September 15, 1938, passed away on May 8, 2014. Jim was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather.

Jim was born in Garland, Utah to Wilford Ray Hougaard Elizabeth Gee on September 15, 1938. Migrating to Las Vegas from Utah in 1963, Jim became an invaluable and longtime member of the local 159 Painters Union in which he retired from in 1999. A hunter most of his life, in earlier days, Jim spent his free time building and racing stock cars and off road vehicles becoming one of the original competitors in the famous and often infamous Mint 400 race among others. Later he enjoyed jet skiing and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and Love Darlene, his brother Howard, his sister Glenna and his children Teresa Terrie and Steven. Jim is survived by his second Wife and Love Barbara, his daughter Dawna and his grandchildren Steven, Jamie, Tessie, Rick, Chris, Brittney, Brandon, and Kayla. Jim will be remembered as A truly self made man and an honest to goodness character. He was loved and will be missed by all.
