James Salvatore Mele, age 85, passed away December 27, 2015. He was a longtime resident of Chesterland, Ohio but moved to Las Vegas 10 years ago. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He was store manager for Edison Brothers Shoe Store and retired after 40 years in the business.
He is survived by: daughter, Debra Mele-Blanchard and husband Jerry T. Blanchard; son, Jeffrey Mele and wife Aime Freiberg Mele; son, Douglas Mele and wife Kim Mele; seven grandchildren, Rory Spence and fiancé Ingrid Moreno, Summyr Stein and husband Eric Stein, Sam Mele, Zach Mele, Jake Mele, Ben Mele, Rachel Loux and husband Jeff Loux; great grandchildren, Maddie and Josh Loux, Gabriel Stein, Olivia Spence; and one niece, Kathy Leggiero.
He is preceded in death by: his wife of 34 years, Susan L. Mele; parents, Louis and Vincenzina Mulone Mele; and sister, Grace Zimmerman.
Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV.
Funeral services will follow at 4:00pm in the chapel of Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV with military honors.
