James Clay Wainscott

James C. Wainscott Jr., 84, of Las Vegas, NV., peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in Henderson, NV.

James Wainscott was born in Columbia, S.C. to James Wainscott and Frances Gordon Wainscott on August 7, 1939.

James graduated from Ursuline High School in 1958 then joined the US Air Force. After serving his country for 20 years, he retired in Las Vegas, Nevada where he continued his career in the Hotel Industry working at the Riviera Hotel and Las Vegas Hilton. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music and dancing, and he loved spending time with his family, especially with his wife, children, and his grandchildren.

James Wainscott is preceded in death by his father James C. Wainscott Sr., mother, Frances Gordon Wainscott, sister Jean Wainscott, and stepson Lorin Styles Park.

James Wainscott is survived by his spouses, Joyce Wainscott (married 43 years) and Betty Wainscott (married 20 years); his daughter, Frances Fallis and son-in-law, Jim Fallis of Spokane, WA; sons, Jim Wainscott and daughter-in-law, Debbie Wainscott of Grants Pass, OR., and George Wainscott of Spokane, WA., and stepson Shane Park of Reno, NV; sister, Patricia Butler of West Chester, PA; brother Richard Wainscott of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren Taylor, Alex, Lauren, and Natalie; great grandchildren Brooklyn, Stylez, and Levi.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 – 1:00 on Wednesday, August 14, at Davis Funeral Homes & Memorial Park, 6200 South Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV, with Chaplain Carl Fogg officiating. Burial to follow after services.
