Janet Gail Bradley Silvernail, 94, passed away peacefully in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 3, 2025.
Janet was born in Sharon Connecticut to William J. and Marjorie F. Bradley on August 9, 1930, which happened to be her mother’s birthday.
Janet graduated from Millerton High School in 1948 and attended Kressler Business School in Poughkeepsie, New York. She worked for Suburban Propane as a secretary until 1954 when she married Joseph L. Silvernail, Jr. and moved across the country from Millerton, New York to Las Vegas, Nevada. She lived in Las Vegas for over 70 years and raised four wonderful children.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Silvernail, Jr., her parents, William and Marjorie Bradley, and four siblings, Travis Bradley, Joan Riley, Roger Bradley and Elizabeth Layton.
Janet is survived by her four children, Diana (Patrick) Sakai, Bruce Silvernail, JoAnne Silvernail and Sandra Silvernail. She is survived by three sisters, Marsha Phillips, Sandra Thurston and Diane Walters. She is survived by four grandchildren, Brandon, Courtney, Joseph and Robbie. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Kardinal, Hudson and Hayden.
Janet loved reading; her favorite genre was murder mysteries. She was a wonderful knitter and made many afghans for her children and grandchildren. She loved sports, especially baseball. She frequently attended baseball games at Cashman Field and rooted for the Las Vegas Stars minor league team. Her favorite major league team was the San Diego Padres. Janet was also a Vegas Golden Knights hockey fan.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00pm in the mausoleum with burial immediately following. Both events will be held at Davis Memorial Park located at 6200 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada. Davis Funeral Homes & Memorial Park is handling arrangements
Janet’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks Dr. AJ Marlon, her doctor of many years. Also, a huge thank you to Brighton Hospice, especially Jason, Vanessa, Eli, Kyle and Yesenia for taking such good care of our mother during her final months.
