Jerald Kirkman Grantham died in Henderson, Nevada on May 19, 2019, at the age of 78. Jerald was born on October 3, 1940, in American Fork, Utah to James K. Grantham and Donna Lewis Grantham. He spent most of his youth in Little Rock, Arkansas where he lived until he left for the Marines. He joined the Marine Corps in 1958 which he proudly served until 1968. He married Janet E. Nyberg on March 10, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois. His marriage was later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in 1966. After leaving the Marines, he moved with his family to Provo, Utah where he attended Brigham Young University and graduated in 1970 with his Bachelor’s degree. After graduation, Jerald and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he began working for Burroughs Welcome as a sales representative. This began a long career in sales for various companies throughout his life. Jerald later graduated from Memphis State University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling. Job opportunities later led Jerald to Utah and eventually to Las Vegas, Nevada where he lived the remainder of his life.
Jerald is survived by his wife, Janet and his nine children as follows: Victoria L. Gibbs (Nathan), Jerald K. Grantham Jr. (Staci), Tricia E. Bray (Ernst), Jana R. Taylor, Jonathan K. Grantham (Ellen), Justin K. Grantham, Joseph K. Grantham, Elizabeth A Eaton (Phillip) and Katrina M. Hall (Aren). Jerald is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jerald’s surviving siblings include Carolyn Jarrell, Gary Brumbelow, James Grantham Jr, Donald Grantham, Kay-Lynn Grantham, and Sharon Marshall along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral is scheduled for May 31, 2019, at 10:30 am at the LDS chapel at 2275 E Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada, with a family luncheon to follow. All friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Jerald’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to 2275 E. Tropicana at 10 o’clock AM the day of the funeral.
