Jerry Andrew Juarez Jr., age 61, also known as the ""Colorado Kid"" was called home to be with Our Lord Savior on April 30, 2017 from Las Vegas, Nevada to reunite with his parents Jerry Juarez & Percides Juarez, his sister Annie Juarez and nephew David Juarez Jr., whom welcome him with open arms.
Jerry was born on December 22, 1955 in the Colorful state of Colorado. He was a very hard worker. He had worked for the Rio Grande Railroad for many years, where he had retired from. Jerry was a very funny man that enjoyed cracking jokes and loved to see you smile. When he sensed that you were feeling down or just wanted to make you laugh he would say ""Where were you in 62"", of course we had our favorite response back to him which he enjoyed hearing us say. He would also say ""Ways Out"" when he was teasing you. Every time we left from visiting he would always say ""See you later Alligator"". Oh but Jerry was also a very stubborn man and made sure to pass that on to his children. He enjoyed playing the guitar and wearing western clothing (his boots, cowboy hat and don't forget about that belt buckle and chain wallet). And he loved watching western movies, La Bamba, Selena and Purple Rain.
Jerry lived a life of fun and sometimes on the edge of danger. After being an alcoholic for over 40 yrs, he turned his life around and had been sober for the last 5 years of his life. He was baptized and saved on May 15, 2015 at Central Christian Church in Nevada. His exact words prior to being baptized were, ""Before coming to church, I had problems with alcoholism and was getting in a lot of trouble. My girlfriend April Phillips invited me to Central and after a lot of conversation, I decided I wanted to take my next step in Baptism. I know God will work in my life even more than He has been! God has truly touched my heart"".
Jerry is survived by his 7 children, April, Shelly, Elizabeth, Tina, Nadine, Jerry 3rd and Fernando, along with 20 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother David and two sisters Angie and Gloria along with 6 nieces.
Services will be held on Saturday June 3rd at 10:00am at Central Christian Church located at 1001 New Beginnings Dr. Henderson, NV 89011 with a Celebration Of Life to follow services.
We know Jerry is looking down on his family. He will be truly missed.
