Jewell Alfasso

June 29, 1979 — June 14, 2018

Jewell Bianca ""Jewell B"" Gorgeous Alfasso was born on Friday, June 29, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Jodi Gorgeous Zwerner and Irving Alfasso, Sr.

Jewell accepted Christ at an early age, and later re-established her commitment to Christ in 2008, being baptized at the Crenshaw Church of Christ in Los Angeles, California. She possessed a deep interest in the Word of God, and felt a need to be more purposeful in a mission to share the Word, always feeling compelled to make a difference in this world and lives of others.

At five years old, Jewell and her mother moved to Miami Beach, Florida, where she began elementary school, later moving to Atlanta, Georgia, Denver Colorado, Los Angeles, and ultimately returning to Las Vegas. Jewell was a bright, talented, and vivacious little girl. She studied dance and performance arts from age three. She was a competitive and award-winning cheerleader, a singer, and a composer. Her artistry was apparent through a love of music, theater and dance. At 13-years-old, she and her mother Jodi settled in California, and resided in Topanga Canyon, California. During this time, Jewell was raised by both her mother and stepfather Richard Hettig, and attended Topanga Canyon Elementary School, as well as Paul Revere Middle School. Later the family moved again, this time to Laguna Beach, California, where she attended Laguna Beach High, graduating with a High School Diploma in 1997. Jewell attended Gainesville College in Georgia, as well as Pasadena City College, nearly completing her Associates of Arts Degree.

Jewell's charming personality and giving spirit was perfectly suited for the restaurant industry. She was an exceptional waitress for many years at Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurants in California and Nevada, as well as at Topgolf, a premier entertainment event venue. She was a Senior Waitress, and a recognized Employee of the Month, always receiving compliments on her efficiency and smiles. She continued to perform in musical plays/theater as recently as 2013, acting and dancing for Hollywood theater productions. Jewell also put her artistic talents to work as an adult ballroom dance instructor, as well as delightfully teaching dance to elementary school children for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Jewell Bianca was a rare gem, one who was utter preciousness to her mother, Jodi, being her only child. She was dear to her family, and a loyal and compassionate friend to many. The adorable laugh, sense of humor, and gentle, loving spirit which she possessed were reflected by rays of inner light that gently shone through her big beautiful eyes and soft smile.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2018, Jewell Bianca peacefully passed away from this life. Her dear memory will be forever cherished by her mother-her heart-Jodi Gorgeous Zwerner; Uncle Jack Zwerner (Kat); Aunts, Grace Zwerner, Nina Alfasso, Susan Albrecht (Jim), Beverly Zwerner Linn; Cousins Jacqueline Zwerner Roberts (Dave), Jacob Zwerner (Ashley), Jennifer Battisti and Kimberly Albrecht; dearest friend, Brandy Romero-Clifford; along with a host of other family and friends. Her father, Irving Alfasso Sr. preceded her in death, as well as her grandparents Jack B. Zwerner and Rita Zwerner; Aunt, Jewell Zwerner; Uncles, Michael Zwerner, Herbert Zwerner, and Carl Zwerner.
