John Raymond Jacoby, 79, a retired bar manager, of Las Vegas, passed away April 6, 2012. He was born Dec. 5, 1932 in Los Angeles, and was a 45year resident of Las Vegas. He was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather. John grew up in Los Angeles, where he was an allAmerican football star in high school and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Mae Silver, less than a week after graduation. John liked riding horses, going to rodeos, and cowboy movies. He also coached Pop Warner Football and was an avid sports fan, especially of UNLV. His devotion to God and his family were evident by the life he lived. He loved his church family at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship and the guys in his Wednesday night bible study group. He was kind, generous, and had just the best sense of humor. John worked many jobs before moving to Las Vegas. He retired from the Chateau Vegas after nearly 20 years of managing the bar. He then went into casino surveillance and retired after 14 years. He will be and is already greatly missed. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanne and daughter, Mary. He is survived by his brother, Jake Jacoby sister, Darlene Paige and children, John and Sandy Jacoby, Fran and Russ Evans, Toni and Ron Gomez, and Mark and Heather Jacoby 16 grandchildren six greatgrandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held in Johns honor at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 5825 Eldora Ave., Las Vegas.
