John Nogafka

John Nogafka, 87, of Las Vegas, formally of Chicago, passed away May 10, 2012, after a long batter with cancer. He was born Feb. 4, 1925 in Chicago. John served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a Chicago police officer for 28 years until retirement. He and wife, Lucille, moved to Las Vegas 22 years ago. John worked for nine years for Local 631 at the Convention Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Patano Nogafka parents, John and Anna and brothers, Robert and Stanley. John is survived by his daughter, Deborah Bud Wilson of Reno. He was the beloved uncle of Peggy Dunham, and her husband, Pat Peggy and John Nogafka and godson, Alex Patano. No local services. Memorial Mass and burial will take place in Chicago.
