Loving father and husband, John Harold Pilkington died July 5th, 2012. He was born January 21, 1942 in Lake Ozark, Missouri.
John was a professional water skier and competitor, an Eagle Scout and honor student. He began college at seventeen and graduated from the University of Missouri with honors. While an undergraduate, he was President of The Big Eight the top universities. John graduated from Law school. While there, he met Julie Ousley, a Stephens College graduate. They were married in Las Vegas. John passed the Missouri Bar, the Nevada Bar and was later admitted to the US Supreme Court, in Washington, DC
After finishing university, He went directly into the US Army during the Viet Nam war. He and Julie spent the last part of his tour of duty in a village outside Frankfurt Germany at Camp King. He was assigned to Army Intelligence and Camp King was a highly sensitive part of collecting information from the other side of the Berlin Wall. John left the Army as a Captain and he and Julie returned to the States. They chose to live in Las Vegas. He loved Classical music and opera he had a beautiful singing voice few heard. He liked camping with his son and the Boy Scouts, and even canoed on the Colorado River. He became a true Nevadan. He was approved by the NV Gaming Commission and was one of the original owners of the Edgewater Hotel Casino in Laughlin, NV. He actively practiced law for over 35 years. He is survived by his wife Julie, sons Mathew and David, daughter Megan and his brother Tim Pilkington and family.
