John William Tracy Jr.

September 20, 1931 — January 1, 2012

John W. Tracy passed away on January 1, 2012 after a courageous 2 year battle with lung cancer.

John was born September 20, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to the San Diego area at a young age and spent 40 years in El Cajon. John served in the Army from 19521954 during the Korean War.

John married his first wife, Barbara in 1958 and they had one child, Teresa. He worked for the United Parcel Service for 23 years. He and his current wife, Peggy, moved to Sun City Anthem in Henderson in 2001. He was one of the founding fathers of the Titans of Revere Mens Golf Club. He had an avid love forgolf and was a great sports fan, especially for the Chargers and Padres.

John was a loving husband, father, and friend, and he was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed by many.

John is survived by his wife of 26 years Peggy his daughter, Teresa Benavidez, and her husband Ed his grandchildren 2 sets of twins, John Tracy and Jenna Julie and his one year old great granddaughter, Kailee. He is also survived by Peggys children, Alan Herder and Jayne Sanders and Jaynes children, Alea and Evan Sanders his brotherinlaw, Jack Welch and nephew, Eddie Welch, and niece Denise Beatty.

He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Eleanor Ed Block, his brother, Eugene Tracy sister, Peggy Welch and his first wife, Barbara.

Private interment will be in San Diego at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, American Cancer Society, the Minute Man Foundation of Anthem.
