Jonathan (Jonnie) Rubright was born into a loving and caring family in Los Angeles California. His parents, Richard and Monica, were overjoyed to care for and watch him grow into the loving person he became. After the passing of his mother, the family moved to Las Vegas where Jonathan spent his formative years honing his amazing craft as an Iron Worker.
Jonathan was a self-taught welder and he ultimately became a certified Ironworker and secured himself a position in the craft where he helped in the creation of many projects in and around Las Vegas and the surrounding area. As you drive down any major street in Las Vegas you can see some of the handwork that he helped create. It is hard to travel anywhere around the city and not be reminded of the many projects that Jonathan helped create which made the city look special.
During Jonathan’s welding career he made many, many wonderful friends, acquaintances, and extremely close friendships. His 15 years in the greatest profession helped mold him into the man he was. His passion and desire drove him to be a perfectionist, and this helped inspire his fellow Ironworkers to achieve their true goals in life.
Jon’s held many passions in life. He enjoyed playing with his favorite cockatoos & parrot, attending concerts, camping, thrill seeking, and possessed a down home zest for real life adventures.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his mother Monica, and is survived by his loving father Richard, his amazing, artistic brother Derek who he admired and spoke of often, his Uncle Tom Rubright, his cousins Chris and Adam Rubright, and his girlfriend Christina Hope Frigon.
Jonathan was always a passionate, considerate, and generous man who always tried to look at the positive in people and tried to help them achieve their goals in life. He will be sorely missed by everyone who ever came across his path in life.
