Jose Francisco Sanchez, 76, left this life peacefully, March 2, 2014, at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, surrounded by family. He lost a twoyear battle with cancer. He fought bravely, without complaining, but was just too weak to carry on. Jose was born Sept. 10, 1937, in Los Angeles, but lived almost all his life in Las Vegas. He graduated from Las Vegas High School and entered the U.S. Air Force. He was very proud of his time in the U.S. Air Force. After the military, he went to work for the United States Postal Service, retiring as a superintendent in 1992, after 36 years of service. He also was a devoted member of St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church. Jose was a wonderful role model for his grandchildren and all their friends. He was always there to help anyone who needed him. He will leave an ache in our hearts, but knowing he is at peace and painfree means everything. Jose is survived by his wife and soulmate, of 30 years, Tiny and, with a combined family, he is survived by seven children, he loved each and every one as his own, Charles Mark Tami, Tina Conger Dana, Evelyn Sjolie, Adella Whaley, Roxane Vieites, Daren Barnes and Renae Murphy 16 grandchildren 19 greatgrandchildren sisters, Adela Sanchez Louie and Stella Sanchez Bob brothers, John Sanchez Lydia and Tony Covarrubias Betty four stepbrothers, in Acapulco, Mexico as well as many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 9:3011 a.m. Monday, March 10, with services following, both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial to follow at Davis Memorial Park.
