Joseph P. Caldwell, avid fisherman, horseman, poker player, and accomplished traveler left this Earth on Saturday June 18th, 2016 surrounded by family who adored him.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona on August 8th, 1930, he spent the great majority of his life in Southern California raising his three children with the great love of his life Beverly Caldwell.
Although he accomplished everything he strived for as a CEO, Navy veteran, and later a philanthropist, he would tell you his greatest accomplishment was still being madly
in love with the woman he swept off her feet 61 years ago.
His cantankerous spirit and love for animals was infectious. His children and grandchildren will never forget the valuable lessons we learned from him;
- Let a dog (or two or three) share your bed
- A puppy is always the perfect gift
- Always stay in love with your sweetheart
Joe was preceded in death by his loving parents, 5 siblings, daughter Jo-Lynn, and a whole collection of poker loving cowboys that have anxiously been awaiting his arrival.
Wife Beverly Caldwell, children Mike Caldwell and Donna Caldwell, as well as grandchildren Mikal Marie Caldwell-Miller, Christopher Caldwell, Corey Caldwell, Jeff Kriese,
and Tammy Kriese-Renteria all look forward to seeing him in heaven again someday to hear more of his stories.
A private ceremony to spread his ashes in the ocean surrounding Sitka will take place on August 8th, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Joe's charity of choice, Smile Train.
