Joseph Michael "Mike" King

J. Michael King, 83 President of Princeton Research, Inc. passed away on January 5, 2022, at 11:56 am in Las Vegas. 

He was born in Reading, PA on December 17, 1938. His parents were Henry Philip and Jane (Levy) King. He had a younger brother, Jon E. King, and a sister Carole King. 

Always a smart student looking to excel in life, Michael decided to further his education after high school at the Wharton School of Business from 1956-1960.

He became one of the founders of Imperial Battery Corporation in Lynchburg, Va while also balancing his studies at The Wharton School of Business. He somehow also found the time to be on the golf team, wrestling team, and was a Beta Sig brother as well.

Mike, attended the Wharton School of Business from 1956-1960 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a minor in Engineering.

Tragically, his father was killed in a commercial air crash caused by a bird strike in October 1960. The loss of his father had a tremendous impact on their entire family, forcing Mike to sell the family business later on.

 Always a hard worker, he built and owned the Beaux Jardine Apartment complex in Springfield, Missouri in 1965.

Then, while engineering a plant for Chromalloy in Athens, Georgia, he met the individuals who became central in his founding Tuskeegee Mills in Tuskeegee, Alabama in 1966, the first business entity that hired female black women for gainful employment in factory wage-earning jobs.

They were so immediately successful that Dr. Martin Luther King reproduced them in other locations. As a result of their working relationship, Mike was subsequently invited to Dr. King’s birthday party more than once.

 After selling his family business and becoming an employee at Teledyne, he continued working for them for many years. In working for Dr. Henry Singleton he learned much about venture capital and how to make the best use of limited capital for maximum growth.

 As a tournament bridge player in 1969, he won a national championship event teaming up with Michael Lawrence and Bobby Goldman.

 He then ventured into Wall Street as a broker, trader, and principal of his own companies.

 In 1970, he joined Cogan, Berlind, Weill, and Levitt, which bought CBWL-Hayden Stone, which became Shearson-Hayden Stone, eventually merging with Smith Barney and then Citigroup with Mr. Weill at the top as Chairman. Arthur Levitt became Chairman of the SEC.

He was a member of several futures exchanges: the Chicago Board of Trade the NY Mercantile Exchange, Minneapolis Grain Exchange, and N.Y. Futures Exchange.

 However, along the way, Mike was First Vice President and one of the leading employees for CBWL-Hayden Stone from 1970 through 1973, when the Dow was laboring at just 400.

 Mike first created Princeton Research Inc. in 1995, he was the Director and Chief Economist of Princeton Research, Inc of Nevada until present.

 In 2011, Mike successfully guided Nordic Oil to better energy investment opportunities, namely with Lucas Energy, in the Eagleford Shale in Southern Texas.

 He directed the purchase and sale of Nordic Oil USA I, LLP oil and gas assets in Gonzales, Karnes, and Wilson Counties, Texas. The Nordic LLP was purchased for $9.7 million and sold for $22 million.

 In 2011 he was made president of Broadleaf Capital Partners in an effort to revamp the company and make it profitable.

 Mike co-authors the Weekly Market Strategies newsletter with Charles Moskowitz, weekly market letter which focuses on equity investments, specializing in both listed member stock exchange and development stage companies.

Mike was the type of person to help anyone excel in life and touched countless lives, his legacy will undoubtedly live on.

 He is preceded in death by his brother Jon E. King, his parents, Jane and Henry Philip King, and his sister, Carole King.

 Mike is survived by his loving wife Cherry, their beloved dogs: Charming and Reckless, The Carboni Family (Oscar, Lisa, Olivia, Michael Jr, and Natalie) , The Dolkart Family, and the San Juan Family (Heriberto “Pappi” San Juan, Wally San Juan, Juan Carlos San Juan, Jorge San Juan) to name a few.

 As well as John Dolkart Jr., Victor Mabu, Dan Balarezo, Anne Mahumot, Leo Harten and many countless others.

 Funeral services will take place at 10 am on January 17, 2022, at the Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Las Vegas. Burial and graveside service to follow at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 11 am.

 Pallbearers include Oscar Carboni,  Heriberto “Pappi” San Juan, Wally San Juan, Michael Carboni Jr,  Juan Carlos San Juan, Jorge San Juan.
