Josephine Brown

June 9, 1918 — March 26, 2015



Josephine Brown was born June 9, 1918 in Slab Fork W.V. to Thomas and Mamie Brown. She was the 5th child of 6. Her parents and siblings preceding her in death.



She in later years moved to Glen White WV where she met and married James H. Martin preceding her in death. Of this reunion two children were born, Charles Ronald preceding her in death. Daughter Adrienne who has been her devoted caregiver until her recent passing.



She eventually relocated to Washington D.C, where she worked in a Defense Plant. After living there for several years, she moved to New York City and worked as a domestic for many years. She attended Abernathy Baptist Church. She met and married Curtis Brown who preceded her in death.



They moved to Arizona where she took a course for homecare nursing she served in that capacity for many year until her retirement. She joined Westcroft Baptist Church and later years became a member of College View.



Josephine was a true child of God. So much so that at the age of 80 years she asked her pastor if she could be baptized again, and he consented. She wanted to assure her way into the heavenly gates.



Due to failing health they relocated to Las Vegas, NV where she joined First Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her failing health would not allow her to attend services. She received her inspiration though television ministry.



She was kind and loving and had a smile that would light up a room. She will be missed, but we will see her on the other side, which were the last words she spoke to her great-granddaughter.



She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Adrienne Shaw of Las Vegas. Four granddaughters, Gayle (Gregory), Sheri, Letha, Regina all of

Las Vegas, NV. One step-grandson Tyrone (Anita) of OH. Seven greatgrands Gayneisha of Los Angeles, CA, Shamika, Cieana, Cieon, Princeton Michael and Tymothy all of Las Vegas. Three step-grandchildren of Ohio. Six great-greatgrands Kia, Dasia, Alliyah, Bryen, Kaylah and Dayshaun all of Las Vegas. And a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
