Katherine Lyden

Katherine Katie Lyden, 33, a special education teacher, passed away July 21, 2010, due to natural causes.

She was born March 24, 1977, in Warren, Ohio, and was a 13year resident of Las Vegas.

Katie was described by all as a kindhearted, nonjudgmental, and compassionate person who loved working with her special needs students. She loved the arts, animals and was an avid reader. She received a BA in criminal justice in 1998, and a master of education in 2001 from University of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Catherine and Andrew Kurdila paternal grandparents, Mary Catherine and William Lyden uncle, Gerald Kurdila cousin, Ryan Kurdila and David Lucas, a close family friend.

She is survived by her fiance, John Clark parents, David and Helen Lyden sisters, Andrea Frank Monto and Jennifer Don Dermer five nieces, Marisa and Emma Dermer, Isabella, Olivia and Alaina Monto and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A small reception will follow immediately after memorial Mass.
