IN LOVING MEMORY OF KATHLEEN HENSON

Kathleen Henson passed away on July 7, 2017. Born May 25, 1938 in Williams, Arizona, Kathleen put up a valiant and heroic battle with Alzheimer's disease and allowed God to win the battle for her by calling her home at the age of 79.

Kathleen was known fondly to many as ""Kate"" or ""Kathy"". She was and continues to be one of the most kindest and generous souls that was placed into our midst, for those who knew and loved her. Everyone knew that there wasn't one person she wouldn't help when it was needed. It mattered not to her whether it was a family member, friend or a stranger. Although she was a quiet, soft spoken person, she always found the time, resources and a way to help, even if it only meant lending an ear for someone to talk with and went about her business quietly helping others without expectations. Kathy always could see the positive in everyone and never said an unkind word, whether she knew them personally or not, it made no difference to her, she found the good in all creatures great and small.

Kate began her long career as a telephone operator in Williams, Arizona working for Mountain Bell Telephone Company in the 1960s; where she met and married Doyle Henson in 1966. They made their home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Kate continued building her career by gaining employment at the Fremont Hotel as a PBX operator. She eventually was promoted to Chief PBX Operator and continued her role when the hotel PBX office was moved over to the California Hotel. During her career in the early days in Las Vegas, she spoke with and met several colorful characters. She even retired twice from her career. She was a living part of major technology improvements in the telecommunications field for the times. She was witness to the telecommunications field advancing from the old cord boards into the digital age.

Kathleen had a passionate respect for the Boy Scouts of America. She devoted herself as a Cub Scout Leader for many years. Kate was awarded many different awards for her service, including the Silver Beaver Award, which is one of the highest awards for leadership earned from the Boy Scouts of America. One of her favorite pastimes was watching bull riding, she always looked forward to watching the World Finals of Bull Riding held in Las Vegas every year. Kate enjoyed watching Nascar racing and football, her favorite team being the San Francisco's 49ers, with her favorite QB Joe Montana, and a real fan of the UNLV Running Rebels. Kate enjoyed listening to country and western music and was a huge fan of Marty Robbins, who appeared at the Fremont Hotel on several occasions. Kathy's favorite holiday is Christmas and she loved the jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus. She always loved children and looked at them with awe and wonder, knowing in her heart that all children were true blessings from the Good Lord.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Doyle Henson, Selma Bruce (mother), Lester Fuller (father), Deborah Dee Martin (sister), grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and several family members. She is survived by her sons William Gerald Fuller and Edwin Allen Henson; brother William (Bill) Fuller. sisters Dixie Carol Puckett. Ruthi Miller. Donna Cheri Massey and all of their families as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members.

Go with God for you are one of His favorites. You heard Him call your name, Kate, and you raised your hand and said here I am. May you forever know that you are very important and extremely loved by many. Any and all questions you have ever had are now being answered. Be at Peace and enjoy the loved ones that you are now reunited with. We love you Kate, always have and shall forever love you. In God's own time, the one's left behind shall be reunited with you. Thank you for everything, Kate!!! Sometimes God's angels walk among us in the flesh and Kate, know that you are one of His angels, and you shall always remain one of His special angels.
