Kelvin Orlando Roby Sr was born on Thursday, 23rd day of March 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Claudie Roby and Elaine Harris. He was the sixth of eight siblings. He accepted the Lord at a young age and was baptized at Second Baptist Church. He graduated from VoTech High School, Class of 1985, earning a certificate in Culinary Arts. In February 1986, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, training in HVAC Engineering, and received an honorable discharge in 1990. Becoming a Maintenance Supervisor at RMI, HVAC Tech at A Cool Co., and HVAC/Computers at the Wynn Hotel in the engineering department, were some of his greatest accomplishments. He could do anything he set his mind to, such as repairing/building computers and cable installation to name a few; Google was his greatest tutor! Kel dabbled in auto repair by fixing and repairing his el Camino, which led to him joining “Elco Thang” auto club, where was a member for several years. He was the “Jack of All Trades and Master of Many”. One evening at the club, he was introduced to his soon-to-be wife Germaine; and after a very LONG extensive interrogation, their 25 years began! They worked jointly together at University Park Apartments and had many dreams. On March 11th, 1997, Mother’s Day, they united in marriage; at this time Kelly was now a husband, and father of two sons and a bonus daughter that he called his very own. He would always say “Look she is mine;see she has my nose!” He looked forward to cooking weekend breakfast and dinners for his family; smothered potatoes and gumbo were some of his favorites. His lifelong buddies enjoyed his humored stories and cookouts while watching sporting events on his big screen tv. His lifelong dream was to be a stand-up comedian. He made himself a studio in the garage with a mirror and a homemade sound system. He Practiced all the time and carried little note books so he could write some of his jokes in them. He even named the family dog Dolemite! Kelvin was loved by many and will be extremely missed. Kelvin was preceded in death by his Father Claudie Roby, Mother Elaine Harris, Step-Mother Ora Dean Roby, Sister Cheryl Smith and Brother Karyl Thomas. He leaves a legacy of hope to his Wife Germaine, Children Maurice Jamal, Kelvin Orlando the second and Borgesia Dallas Marie, Three Grandchildren, Sisters Claudia JoAnn Roby, Veirla ”VV” Johnson, Brothers Steven Thomas, Antony Roby and Robert “JJ” Roby Nieces, Nephews, Family Members and many Friends.
