Kevin Joseph Hazy

Kevin Joseph Hazy, 63, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at home, in Las Vegas. Kevin grew up in Windber, Pennsylvania, graduating from high school there in 1972. He then served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Williams AFB, Arizona, Andrews AFB, Washington,DC, RAF Bentwaters, England, a one year tour in Korea, and finally Nellis AFB, Nevada where he retired in 1994. He received a bachelor's degree in Postsecondary Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1998. Upon completing his military service, he remained in Las Vegas where he worked as a casino cashier and finally as security specialist at Nellis AFB. A devoted husband and father, Kevin also faithfully served the Lord as an active parishioner of the following Catholic Churches during his 37 year residency in Las Vegas: St. Francis de Sales, Prince of Peace, St. John Neumann, and Our Lady of Las Vegas. Kevin was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a Past Grand Knight and Former District Deputy. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Hazy of Sarasota, Florida, his mother, Maryann Hazy of Sarasota, Florida, and his wife of nearly 45 years, Phyllis Hazy. He is survived by his son, Kevin, Jr., his wife, Tina, and their children, Patricia, Alexis, and Alicia of Las Vegas, Nevada; son, Robert and his wife Colleen of Modesto, California; granddaughter Jaina Pineda, and her daughter, Delanie, of Pomona, California; granddaughter Alana Pineda, of Chino, California; brother, Andrew Hazy, of Hudson, Ohio; and sister, Susan Cabana, of North Port, Florida. A viewing is scheduled for Saturday February 3rd at Davis Funeral Home (6200 S. Eastern Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89119) from 2p-6p. A memorial service will held at 8:30a on Monday February 5th at Davis Funeral Home. Burial services will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City (1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV 89005) at 10:40a, with full military honors.
