Larry L. BertschLarry Bertsch of Las Vegas, Certified Public Accountant, passed away at the age of 85 on April 18, 2023. He was born on January 4, 1938 in Richmond, Indiana to Maynard and Rozine Bertsch.Larry graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1960. His career began in New York City when he was recruited by Arthur Anderson accounting firm. In 1964, he was hired by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants(AICPA) where he was instrumental in developing professional programs for modernizing public accounting. While on a business trip to Las Vegas he fell in love with Las Vegas and started planning his next move. Five years later he was hired by Caesars Palace where he met his future wife, Trisha. He went on to become Vice President of Finance at Caesars Atlantic City and in 1986 returned to Las Vegas. Larry was appointed a Bankruptcy Hearing Officer and in 2003 opened his CPA office. Not only was Larry a CPA but also held the credential of a CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics).During his time as a Bankruptcy Trustee and within the CPA practice, he was appointed by the State and Federal courts serving as a Receiver and Special Master in over 50 cases. He also was appointed as an Expert Witness and Forensic Examiner in numerous such cases. Larry was a unique professional and enjoyed finding solutions, even in the most difficult cases. Larry was a Mason and held positions at the Zelzah Shrine and Los Angeles Shriners Hospital. He was also active in the community.His many community efforts included, Las Vegas Chamber of

Commerce, Nevada Society of CPAs, State Bar of Nevada Disciplinary Board, Sunrise Children’s Hospital Foundation-Finance Committeeand Toastmasters International.Larry was a long-timedonor to UNLV Athletics and rarely missed home Rebel basketball games and football games. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and hanging out with his friends. Larry is survived by his wife Trisha, son Michael (Katherine) Bertsch, daughter Lauren (Richard) Revenson, stepdaughter Monica Serafini,stepson Andrew (Michelle) McClintic, his grandchildren Trevor, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Jacob, Sabastian, Priscilla, Alexandra and great-grandchildren Kaylea and Riggs. Also survived by his sister, Linda Dykin, sister-in-lawDiane Starks and nieces, nephews andcousins.Larry was a working CPA for over 50 years and proud of holding one of the oldest active Nevada CPA licenses. He had no intention of retiring. When cleaning his desk after his passing anote was found on his Things To Do List: UPDATE RESUME!At his request there will be no services.
