Lauro Carpio Maligaya

Lauro Carpio Maligaya, 79 known to most as Joe of Henderson, NV passed away December 10, 2011. He was born on August 18, 1932 in Santo Tomas, Batangas, Philippines. He attended Centro Escolar University in the Philippines where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. He moved to Rhode Island in 1965 as an exchange student and worked for the Medical Center for 34 years. Besides working at his fulltime job, he and his wife owned and operated a restaurant and convenience store. Joe loved to bowl and was in the North Kingstown bowling league. Joe also loved playing Mahjongg. After retiring, Joe and his wife moved to Orlando, FL where they lived for 8 years before moving to Henderson, NV in 2007 where he starting playing golf.
Joe is survived by his wife of 43 years, Josefina, sons: Edwin, of Rhode Island and Raymond, of Las Vegas daughter inlaw Claudine and grandson Matthew, of Rhode Island. Sisters: Loreta Meer and Mary Ann PInon both of the Philippines.
