Lavinia Lovey Johnson transitioned from this life Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 7:30 in the evening, in her home.

She leaves to mourn her loving and devoted husband, Chester Johnson her three children, Chester Maria Johnson II NY, Lydia Johnson LV, and Joseph Johnson LV her six grandchildren Stephanie Nix, LV, Nichole Johnson NY, Chester Johnson III NY, Alexis Johnson NC, LeeAnn Hill LV, and Waldon Hill Jr LV, and one great grandchild Aiyana Campbell NY. Her five sisters Edwina Jones LV, Elizabeth Potter NY, Minnie Harper NY, Lorraine Milton Payne, LV, Belle Robert Heili LV, and her sister in law Helen Patsy Johnson NY, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Lovey was the second child born in the union of Leicester and Fannie Beaubian in Queens, New York. Siblings Joseph Beaubian, Richard Beaubian, and Delores McClary preceded her in death.

Lovey attended public schools in Jamaica, New York she graduated from John Adams High School and later obtained a BS from Queens College, City University of New York.

Lovey retired from the New York City Dept. of Parks after 25 years of dedicated service, where she supervised the Payroll Department.

Lovey also held an executive position with the AFSCMEDC 37 Union, in New York City and was a member of AFSCME, Sub Chapter 153 Retirees of Nevada.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, ceramics, gardening, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Lovey was a member of the Hollis Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Girl Scout Leader.

Those we Love dont go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear
