Linda Lee Mumford, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away August 5, 2013.
Linda spent most of her career as a dedicated registered nurse in emergency, intensive care, public health and school nursing. In order to communicate better with patients, she became proficient in Spanish and American sign language. She held a bachelors degree in nursing and a masters degree in teaching, and recently commenced studies for a masters degree in nursing. She was highlyregarded as a teacher of nursing in an academic position which she loved when she was stricken. Linda met her husbandtobe, a physician, at Winthrop University Hospital, where they both worked in 1981. They married in England in 1985. That same year, he joined the U.S. Air Force, and their first assignment was at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, where their son, Nicholas, was born in 1986. Their next assignment was to RAF Lakenheath, where they enjoyed countryliving in a small English village, and Linda served as a Red Cross volunteer during Operation Desert Storm. They returned stateside to Nellis Air Force Base in 1992, and decided to make Las Vegas their home.
Linda always delighted in challenges and became proficient in anything she developed an interest in. She was a talented flautist who often performed at her church.
Linda was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her family, numerous friends, colleagues, as well as past and present students.
