Lisa Marie De Souza, 53, of Nortonville, KS went to be with the Lord on October 05, 2019 at Sunrise Medical Center, Las Vegas, NV. She was born on May 23, 1966 in Atchison, KS to Alice Mae Emmerich and Ernest Dale Chambers. Lisa was employed as the Budget Analyst for the 414th Combat Training Squadron. Nellis Air Force Base Las Vegas, NV. She graduated from El Dorado High School Las Vegas, NV in 1982.  She Received her AS and BS in Accounting from State University of NY (SUNY) Empire State College in 2006 and earned her MBA in Accounting from University of Phoenix in 2011. Her previous employments include Customer Service Representative for the United States Air Force Weapons School, Nellis AFB; Civilian Personnel Disbursement Representative for the 99th Comptroller Squadron; Customer Service Representative for the Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Regional Center Las Vegas, NV; Civilian Disbursement Representative for the 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany; and Civilian Disbursement Representative, 65th Comptroller Squadron Lajes Field, Azores. She touched lives wherever she went and was loved by so many.

Lisa was a mentor to many members of the junior ranks in the United States Air Force wherever she was stationed winning the affectionate title of “Mama Lisa.” She loved adventure and during her time overseas she was known to plan trips across Europe every weekend earning her family the nickname “The Travelling De Souza’s.” There was no problem she could never solve, never gave up on any tasks assigned to her and saw them through with due diligence and excellence. For her time and efforts, she received numerous accolades from the U.S. Air Force, but her heart was always in service to others before self which is one of the core values of the U.S. Air Force which she loved serving as a civilian. She was a fun-loving woman whose laugh was contagious and always carried her heart on her sleeve. She was a faithful wife, mother, and friend always trustworthy and full of life until the very end. She fought her battle with cancer with cheerful, hopeful attitude, and with all her strength. 

She is survived by her husband Mario whom she married on January 06, 2001; her sister Kat Chambers; children Stephanie N. Shirley and Son in law Chance Shirley; Lindsay R. Stamper; Leanna M. De Souza, and Anthony M. De Souza along with grandchildren Luka Fernandez, Margot Fernandez and Olivia Shirley; as well as numerous family members in Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made in Lisa’s name to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
