Lise Auger Desmarais, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2023, at the age of 65. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Lise is survived by her husband David Desmarais, her son Justin Desmarais, her brothers Claude Auger and Michel Auger, and Michel’s wife Pierrette D'astous, as well as many Nieces, Nephews and Grand-Nieces and Grand-Nephews.
Lise was born in Quebec, Canada to Andre Auger and Murielle McKinnon Auger. She graduated from Francios Xavier Garneau College with a degree in Interior Design and worked in a variety of industries throughout her life, including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. She married her soulmate David Desmarais on May 9th, 1981, and welcomed her son Justin in 1988. Her family, although small, was a very important part of her life.
Lise’s passion was traveling, and it could be said that she was a world traveler. She lived in Quebec Canada, Santa Monica California, Princeville Hawaii, and Las Vegas Nevada, and visited over 75 countries. She loved cruising, beach life, pets and animals, hockey, and cooking for friends and loved ones. She advocated for health and wellness, Cancer research, and Celiac-friendly restaurants. The celebration of her life will be held in Quebec, Canada. In lieu of flowers, Lise requested that donations be sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Lise’s wish was that she return to Hawaii. She said "I want my ashes to be scattered in the waters of Kauai. The waters of the sea travel all over the world and I want to continue traveling the world."
