Lois Vicy Langston Smith was born May 13, 1927 in Holiday, Texas. Her
family lived in various small Texas towns during the Great Depression.
She married Bob Smith during WWII and moved to California, where
her daughter Anna Janette was born. After the war, they relocated to
Roswell, New Mexico where Lois became a telephone operator. Job
opportunities brought them to Las Vegas , Nevada in 1960. Lois was
blessed with another daughter, Valette, in 1965. Homemaking became
her new profession. Bob passed away suddenly in 1974. 1976 brought
changes and spiritual fulfillment as she became an active member of
her church where she taught Sunday School. Her faith remained
strong until the very end of her life. Lois had great insight and wisdom.
Her quiet ways and Texas drawl drew people to her. She also had a
great sense of humor and loved to tell true life stories She was
blessed with 4 grandchildren: Brian Berger, Karena Cherry, Aaron
Smith, Henry Chojolan 2 great grandchildren: Laura Wyatt and
Samantha DeVore and 1 great great grandson, Bentley Wyatt along
with numerous nieces and nephews.
