Lou Loretz

On December 16, 2014, heaven received a special angel, Louis Eugene Loretz affectionately known as Papa Lou.

Lou was born on April 15, 1936 in Van Nuys, CA to his parents, Elsie and Louis Loretz. He was their only child but was raised with strong family values embracing a tight bond with everyone he met as if they were family. Lou was one to never forget a name and always ready to share a story. Those values are his legacy which will live on. Lou was a wonderful husband he is survived by his wife and dear friend Kitty SimpsonLoretz, They were married on Feburary 5th, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of fiftytwo years, Ruth Mann. Together they raised a beautiful family on a ranch in Tollhouse, CA. Lou was a proud father and loving grandfather. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Joseph and Judy Loretz, Susan and Larry Roberson, Bernie and Ted Brooks, Anton Loretz, Heidi and Rick Schacher, along with, Armand and Ruth Simpson, Molly Wilkinson, Bill and Liz Simpson, Charlynn and Gavin Hatch, 25 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Lou shared many memories of travels across the country and internationally visiting family and friends. Lou was a man of many talents and great accomplishments. He was a handy carpenter, automobile connoisseur, and built an insurance business in Reno, NV that grew to Las Vegas, NV. Lou loved God. He was dedicated to the Catholic Church and helped others to hear Gods word and plant the seed for new churches in almost every town in which he lived.

A memorial service celebrating Lou will be held on
Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
at the Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church,
2300 Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson, NV 89052.
