Luzie Schumacher

Luzie Schumacher at the age of 92 passed away in Las Vegas, NV.

Luzie was born in Florianki, Zduńska Wola, Poland to Reinhold and Olga Emrich on April 10, 1930.

Luzie was born with the name of Alina Lucja Emrich and was of German descent. She was the oldest of 5 children. She had two sisters, Anita and Erika, and two brothers, Arno and Herbert. Her family lived in a village with other German families in Poland. In Jan of 1945, her family fled Poland and immigrated to Germany due to World War II. She was 14 years old. At this time, her name was changed to Luzie Emrich. The family settled in Hannover, Germany. She married Rolf Waechter and gave birth to her son, Joachim Waechter, while living in Hannover. Luzie and her family immigrated to the United States in 1955 and they settled in Chicago, IL. She gave birth to her daughter, Annette Waechter, while living in Chicago. She later moved to the LA area in California and finally to Las Vegas, NV in 1996. She loved her family more than anything and was very proud of them. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and “Oma” to her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, and we are thankful for the memories she has left us with.

Luzie married Rolf Waechter on June 23, 1951, and they were married until Dec 1963.

Luzie married Nikolaus Schlenk on June 26, 1965, until he died on July 18, 1965.

Luzie married Franz Schumacher on Nov 16, 1974, and was married to Franz until her passing. They were married 48 years.

Luzie is preceded in death by her parents, Olga and Reinhold Emrich and her brother, Arno Emrich.

Luzie is survived by her husband Franz Schumacher, son Joachim Waechter and his wife Deborah, daughter Annette Burger and her husband William, sisters Anita Kowatsch and Erika Stanley, brother Herbert Emmrich, grandchildren Sarah Rojas, Andrea Brai, Darren Parke and Katie Waechter, and great-grandchildren Madeline Rojas, Easton Parke and Connor Brai.

Visitation will be from 2-4pm on Sunday, Jan. 15,2023 at Davis Funeral Home 6200 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, Jan 16,2023 at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park 6200 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119.
