Maria Colomba Lizarzaburu, aged 75, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024. She was born on February 24, 1949, in Trujillo, Peru.
Maria's journey was one of resilience and triumph. After graduating from high school, she pursued a career in nursing but later found her true calling in the business world. As a successful entrepreneur in sales, Maria owned several storefronts and delivery companies, showcasing her dedication and hard work.
At the young age of 24, Maria became a widow for the first time, facing the immense challenge of raising four children on her own. Later, at the age of 35, she gave birth to a baby girl and was widowed again. Her strength and determination were unwavering as she paved the way for her children to move to the United States, ensuring they had opportunities for a better life.
Maria's home was always filled with love and laughter. She delighted in cooking delicious Peruvian dishes and hosting dinners where everyone was considered family. Her playful and funny nature, along with her love for dancing, made her truly one of a kind.
In her later years, Maria remained active in her community, particularly in Peruvian political campaigns and her cherished event of giving back to the children of Putumayo every Christmas. Her deep faith and involvement with her Catholic church were central to her life.
Maria is survived by her current husband, Cesar Rivera; her five children: Jorge Juan Flores, Maria Luisa Toigo, Maria Colomba Seitz, Oscar Eduardo Flores, and Ana Maria Mora; her ten grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; and her four brothers. She was preceded in death by her father, Jorge Lizarzaburu; her mother, Virginia Lizarzaburu; and her brother, Victor Lizarzaburu.
A service to celebrate Maria's life will be held on July 7th from 11 am to 2 pm at Davis Funeral Home on Eastern and Patrick Lane. All are welcome to attend and honor the life of our beloved Lela.
Maria's legacy of love, strength, and community spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
