Marvin Louis Rehkop, 79, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, in Las Vegas.
Marv was a man of great character, integrity and optimism. An exemplary officer and gentleman, he retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he served through the entire Vietnam War, later working for Holmes Narver, Raytheon and Bechtel.
A Christian man of unwavering faith, he welcomed each day as Gods gift and unfailingly treated each person with dignity and respect. Marv was a devotee of Don Quixote, who always believed the world could be a better place and Snoopy, the quirky, unpretentious character who went about life on his own terms, devoted to his Woodstock.
He was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Concordia, Mo., where he will soon return to rest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Mike and Lillie nee Wolpers Rehkop and his muchloved brother, Vernon.
He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Kathryn and her husband, Mark Remspecher, whom he loved as his own, of Farmington, Mo. inlaws, Sylvia and Robert Blanchard of Las Vegas, Marie Rehkop of Concordia, and Johnnie Beth Moore of Florida and nieces and nephews, Tom and Janet Rehkop and Barbara and Jim Peuster of Missouri, Delynne and Kevin Raines of Utah, John Skip and Cheryl Blanchard of Las Vegas, Heather and Steve Polk of Florida, Konica Wilson of Ohio, and Donna White of Virginia. Marv also loved his many wonderful cousins and their families and had many caring friends. Especially close in his heart were longtime friends, Barbara Edler, Jeannie and Scott Hooper and family and Kimberly Walton Franzen and her husband, Ray.
To God alone be the glory.
