Mary Ann Meci

Mary Ann “Mickie” Meci nee Colwell, 83, left us peacefully on August 26, 2020. She was born in Queens, New York on December 9, 1936 to John C Colwell and Frances “Nellie” Lowndes. She is survived by her five children Kathleen Meci, Mary Ann (Meci) Alt, Joseph Meci, Ricky Meci and Laura Meci.

Mickie was very proud of her Irish heritage. Raised in New York, she enjoyed family gatherings with her five brothers and three sisters, where all things Irish were celebrated. Mickie had a beautiful singing voice; like that of a songbird. She was happiest when singing aloud to her favorite crooner, Jerry Vale. Mickie moved to Las Vegas in 1972 and after 35 years and a successful career, she returned to New York, where her heart had remained so many years before. She was loved in extraordinary ways and will be missed immensely. Mickie had the strong belief that one day she would be reunited with her mamma and now, that reunion takes place.

As was her wish, there will be no service, however, it would be an honor if you would celebrate Mickie’s life in your own way, with your own memories. Following cremation, she will be interred at the Garden of Devotion in Davis Memorial Gardens in Las Vegas, NV. As was also her wish, a Catholic priest will be present to bless her as she enters her final resting place.
