Mary Stella Vigil, 76, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010. She was born in Sterling, Colorado, to Andres Montoya and Rita Gallegoes on December 9, 1933.
She was a mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and friend to very many. She touched many lives with the huge heart she had and her generosity. She lived a very hard life and made the most of her situations and taught her children and grandchildren to do the same. Her fiery spirit was the reason so many loved her and at times not so much. She loved hard, lived hard and spoke her mind no matter what anyone thought or had to say. As a young woman, she took care of her family, not just her husbands and children, but her mom, dad, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Mary Loved Bingo, the Denver Broncos, the Dog Track, and most of all, Family Gathering. She would always welcome anybody into her home for food if they were hungry and offered an ear to listen or shoulder to lean on through a hard time. She loved her family and loved being surrounded by them and always made it a point to be there for births of new ones joining. She also loved her Bingo, and most times if not at home could be found at Sams Town Bingo hall. She taught anyone she could to be strong and how to get out and take care of business, and to do what you have to in order to make it and provide.
Mary leaves many children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends with unforgetable memories and life experiences.
