Michael John Varga Jr., was born in Bonhamtown, NJ. on August 13, 1930, and passed away in Las Vegas, NV. on March 26, 2013 at the age of 82. When Mike was a young boy his family traveled to Hungary in 1938 to visit his Grandparents Joseph and Ilona Fodor. Unfortunately, WWII broke out in Europe almost immediately after their arrival and the family was forced to remain in Hungary until the war was over in 1945. By the Grace of God, there were countless times when Mikes life was spared only by inches first the German Army overran the country, then later the Russian Army overran the country.
After returning home to NJ, Mike finished High School, but soon again the Korean War broke out and Mike found himself in the US Army, assigned for duty in Germany as a Signals Specialist. Earning his Honorable Discharge, Mike returned to his former job with the Great Atlantic and Pacific grocery chain, from where he eventually retired. Mike was always fond of traveling with his family, including taking along his Nephews David Puritz and George Takacs, and Niece Paige Takacs. As time went by Mike became the Caretaker for his Father, Michael Varga. Even more later after relocating to Las Vegas, NV. he was a devoted Caretaker for his Mother, Yolan Fodor Varga, until she passed away in November
2006. Without a doubt, Mike was the most caring and respectful and gentle man on the face of this Earth he was loved by all his family members, including the next generation of Nephews and Nieces Mike Fodor, Russell Varga and Bethany Varga. By this Obituary, the following additional family members Honor Mikes life and will forever miss him: Sisters Esther and Lillian, Brother Eugene, Nephew Aaron Varga, Niece Janice Varga, Cousin Eugene Fodor and his wife Brenda, Cousin Zolton Fodor and his wife Evelyn, Betty Fodor and her husband Bill Harris.
Today Mike sits at the right hand of The Lord, where he truly belongs.
