Michelle Lynn Kennedy

Michelle Lynn Kennedy, RN. CRRN. WCC.  51,  left this earth suddenly on April 6, 2021.  Michelle was born in Statesville, North Carolina on March 2, 1970, to Dale and Cindy Kennedy. Her family moved back to Illinois when she was 10 months old.

She attended schools in Loves Park, Illinois where she loved to be active in sports. She excelled in school to the extent that she was bored in class. She left school to find something more interesting. She obtained her GED at the same time as her graduating class of 1988. She worked as a waitress and bartender for some time, but when she gave birth to her daughter, she decided to get serious and become a nurse. She worked her way up the hard way, by working and going to school at the same time. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in September of 2001. She worked as a CNA at Spring Valley Hospital for several years while attending an online college. She reached her BSN degree at Grand Canyon College. In 2012, she began working for HealthSouth Rehab and in 2014 she became a wound care nurse. She loved what she did. In October of 2018, she became the Wound Care Coordinator for Encompass Rehab Hospital in Las Vegas. She was working toward her NP when she passed away.

She loved her gardening and cheering on the Vegas Golden Knights. She was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

She is predeceased by her father Dale Kennedy.

Michelle is survived by her daughter, Brianna; her parents, Cindy and Rick Hecker, three brothers, Che’ Hecker (NV), Tom Roberson (MI), and Steve Roberson (Il). She has numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

There will be a visitation for the family from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the Davis Funeral Home at 6200 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV. There will be a visitation from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm for any of her friends who wish to attend. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 pm.
