Orson Kingham Jr. 86, passed peacefully home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 17, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family.
Orson was born on a farm in North Kansas on May 5, 1933 to Orson Sr. and Katherine Kingham. He was one of 13 children. He was only able to complete the 8th grade as he and his brothers were needed to work on the farm. He later married Shirley Sleffel and had four children, Randall, Rodney, Deborah and Bryan. They were later divorced, and he married Janette who brought with her a son, Jim. This completed his family.
Orson was a long-time member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 12 where he was known to be a great mechanic on heavy machinery and automobiles as well. He loved to hunt, fish and camp. He was a great gardener, boy could he grow tomatoes. He had a very tender heart and would help anyone in need, especially his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Orson was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, and 1 granddaughter, Andrea Dorff.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Rene and Clara, his loving wife Janette to whom he was married to for 54 years, four sons; Randy (Kathy) of Highland Utah, Rodney (Dixie) of Washington City, UT, Bryan (Deborah) of Las Vegas, Jim McGaha (Kim) of Las Vegas, and daughter Deborah Close (Darrell) of Show Low, Arizona, 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He served as a faithful Deacon of his church for many years. His funeral will be held on Monday, June 24, at Sunrise Bible Church located at 1780 North Bible Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89156. The viewing will be at 10AM, the service will begin at 11AM and the burial will be at 1PM at Davis Memorial Park - 6200 South Eastern Avenue.
