U.S. Army, Retired Otis Scott Sr., 80, passed away at his home, November 4, 2010.
He was born April 21, 1930, to Pierce and Ossie Mae Scott in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Otis gave 40 years of his life to government service. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and led a stellar career. He served three tours of war and retired in 1972 as lieutenant colonel. He then worked for the government as a civil servant for 20 years. He was a member of the Mason, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Clarice Scott, whom he married Oct. 9, 1952. They went on to have five children.
Otis was preceded in death by both of his parents sister, Inez Cooper and sons, Otis Scott Jr. and Roosevelt Scott.
He is survived by son, Dale Scott daughterinlaw, Patrice Scott daughters, Rose Scott and Juanita Scott sister, Allie Mae Vaughn brother, Roosevelt Dewey Scott four grandchildren, Shawna Scott, Brittany Scott, Preston Pierce Scott and Payton OtisSederick Scott two greatgrandchildren, Amir KemarOtis Scott and Payton DijaeNicole Scott and close family friends, Keith and Diane Sydnor and Ingrid Holliday.
Otis was loved by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
