Patrice Elaine Fields, 62, of Detroit, Mi, passed away on September 25th in Las Vegas, NV. She was born in Detroit to Frances and David Perry on December 17th, 1956.
Patrice went to Immaculata High School in Detroit, MI and then attended the University of Michigan for several semesters. Patrice spent most of her working years with the city of Detroit – over 27 years in total. She married her husband, Brian, in November 1987 and they had their only child, Shawn, in December of 1989. Patrice was an early adapter of computers and online gaming and spent much of her down time playing different MMORPGS.
She retired in 2013, when she was diagnosed w/ kidney disease. During this time, her online time switched to learning more about the disease and helping others become more educated and empowering herself and other to advocate for their medical needs. When she moved to Las Vegas she became active her sorority - Alpha Kappa Alpha - and other social and philanthropic groups.
Patrice is preceded in death by her mother Frances. She is survived by her husband, Brian Fields, he daughter, Shawn Fields, her brother and sister-in-law, David Jr. and Sharon, her father David Sr., and many other in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and sorority sisters from across the county.
The family of Patrice wishes to sincerely thank the Las Vegas chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, friends and family who reached out, and to those who supported Patrice, physically and online, in her battle with kidney disease.
