Patricia Anne Batwinas

Patricia Anne Batwinas, 70 years young!  Born October 25, 11949 in Detroit, Michigan and welcomed into heaven on Easter morning, April 12, 2020 in Henderson, Nevada. 

A long-time resident of Henderson, Patricia grew up in Southwest Detroit, where she attended Holy Redeemer Elementary School and Western High School.  Patricia enjoyed her career working for the United States Postal Service Fort Street and Detroit Metropolitan Airport facilities until 1990. Patricia married Joseph Batwinas and they retired to Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Patricia loved people and worked with her daughter-in-law at Boulder City Care Center, care for the elderly together.  The two then moved on and joined the Delta Airlines Global Services team in the Human Resource Division.  Later she took on another job and joined her son Emanuel to manage the Detroit Motor City Coney Island in Downtown Henderson.  This was truly one of her favorite places and her place to shine and share her talents.  She was very charismatic, singing all the Motown Music and oldies, and enjoyed every person and every bit of customer service.  Her smile spoke volumes, and so many loved her there: she sparkled with pleasure helping her son’s business before retiring December 211, 2012. 

Patricia was a devoted wife for 30 years and loving mother of two, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of four.  Family truly came first for her across the U.S.  She was always singing or whistling, dancing around smiling and laughing with that charming woody woodpecker snort, attending he grandchildren’s activities, going to amusement parks, concerts with her kids, dances with family.  A smart, happy vivacious woman, she was always welcoming and energetic; your happiness gave her happiness.  She loved board games, cooking, enjoying her entire family and baking, especially her annual hundreds of Christmas cookies with her whole family and the friendly competition it brought each year with her sister Mary! 

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Verna Domzalski; siblings Stanly (Shirley) Zenda, Bonnie (Jerry) Reynolds, Nancy (Ronald) Safronoff, and sister-in-law Sandy Zenda. 

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Joseph Batwinas; siblings Robert (Patricia) Zenda, Joseph Zenda, and Mary (Louis) Zednik; children Michelle (Michael) Gibson, Emanuel (Shannon) Sanchez; grandchildren Amanda and Anthony Bakalas, Gerald, Andrew, Brandon and Christopher Sanchez; and great grandchildren Angel, Braeden, Athena, and Adaline.  Arguably the greatest of her gifts is that she continues to be loved by those she loved the most. 

A service is planned for Sunday April 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, located at 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

The family will hold a celebration of Life Ceremony later at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2300 Sunridge Heights Pkwy, Henderson Nevada, 89052, once we are able to gather with all those who loved Patricia.
