Patricia “Penny” Ann Lynch was born Oct. 16th, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was the only daughter to James and Rita Lynch and was the second oldest of their four children. She had three brothers, James Jr., Richard and Michael.
Pat began her lifelong education at St. Cecilia’s School in Brooklyn then to East Islip High School after her parents bought a house out in Long Island. After graduating in 1961 she went to Geneseo State Teachers College in 1961-62 for a year to try her hand at being a math teacher, but found it didn’t fit her very well.
She started a very lengthy career in accounting as a Bookkeeper\Office Manager with Regal & Wade in Maspeth (Queens). In the 10 yrs. she worked there, she learned how to program and soon created & ran all the financial reports for the company. In 1966, at 22, she had her only child, a son, John James Trikofski. As a single parent she did her very best to provide everything she could for him.
In 1975 she moved to Las Vegas to start a new chapter in her life. She also started back up working on her degree, but this time it was in accounting. She worked as a Legal Assistant for seven years trying to finish school. She graduated Clark County Community College in 1977 with an AA in accounting. Also, during this time she got married. Then she continued at UNLV for another year and half on her BA in Accounting, but left due to marital issues. After the divorce in 1982 she put the degree to use and finally landed a Senior Accounting position with Preferred Equities Corp. She made sure her son finished High School and supported him in deciding to join the US Navy.
When one of her best friends moved and not much left for her in Las Vegas Pat made another move to Los Angeles. She held misc. positions until she found her home at TRW as a Senior Accountant. There she grew further and made new friends. She held fast when TRW spun off their Information Division to form Experian then stayed with them in their Tax Dept. until she retired after a combined 14 years.
During the 20-25 something years living in the Los Angeles area Pat did some amazing things. She continued with her education taking courses in Interior and Industrial Design at Orange Coast College, completed another AA in Interior Design at Mt. San Antonio College and completed her education career at Cal Poly Pomona with another degree in Landscape Design. She joined Alanon to help her understand about her ex-husband’s alcoholism and finally put it in the past. She joined Altrusa Intl. Inc. in order to help young women succeed and held several board positions while there. She was also a member and board person with Searchers Gem and Mineral Society, Inc. In the midst of all this she even had time to try and start her own company.
Pat is survived by her brother Michael Lynch and Sister-in-law Debbie Lynch of Fairfax, Va., her son John Trikofski, her daughter-in-law Lisa Trikofski and her two grandchildren Caitlin and Austin Trikofski all from San Jose, CA.
