Patricia Luetkehans
Patricia Ruth Russell Luetkehans passed away on December 27 at the age of 93 at her home in Henderson, Nevada. Born in 1931, Pat was the daughter of Herman and Darlene Russell and grew up on a farm near Carmi, Illinois. After graduation from high school, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she met her future husband, Jerry Luetkehans, who preceded her in death.
A loving wife and mother, Pat was also very active in her community focusing on improving educational opportunities for children. She served as President of the Junior League and was Chairman of the Nevada School of the Arts, active in Young Audiences and appointed by the Governor to serve on a special committee to improve education throughout Nevada.
Pat was also a gifted writer having numerous articles published in national and local magazines and newspapers. Just prior to her death she completed a novel based on 1960s Las Vegas which will be published soon.
Pat is survived by two children; Grant Luetkehans and Jeralyn Luetkehans Prouty, four grandchildren; Ian, Elizabeth, Jason and Jacob and one great grandchild, Maeven as well as four siblings; Charles “Buck” Russell, Sandra Russell Bremser, Matt “Butch” Russell and Karen Russell Mountcastle. She is being laid to rest beside her husband at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
A memorial ceremony will be held on March 29, 2025 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel at 6200 So. Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas, NV. For more information please call her son; Grant Luetkehans at 775-750-9844.
