Patricia Susan Ullom

Las Vegas is saddened by the loss of another loving soul. Patricia Susan (Hedahl) Ullom, long-time Las Vegas resident, passed away on March 26, 2024. She was 75.

Patricia Ullom was born December 31, 1948 in Madison, Wisconsin. She moved to Las Vegas at an early age and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1967. After high school, she started working as a Clerk Typist for the Las Vegas Sheriff’s Department. During her time there, she met a deputy by the name of James Ullom whom she married in April 1969.Pat attended UNLV for a time and moved to Idaho Falls, ID to start a new career with EG&G Idaho in 1976. During her time in Idaho, she was blessed with two sons, Steven and John. She achieved a Business BA from Idaho State University and moved back to Las Vegas in 1986.

Pat worked for over 26 years for federal contractors to the Department of Energy working for three subsidiaries of EG&G, Incorporated. Her last employer was the State of Nevada, working as an Employment Specialist until she medically retired in April 2006.

She became a member of the Community Lutheran Church in 1988 with her family and loved volunteering at her church. She was involved in many social activities, including ladies and co-ed bible study groups, Red Hats Society, and a volunteer crocheting group. She was an usher and greeter, assisted with communion, and even co-taught a children’s confirmation class with her husband. She also loved making pots of chili where she received several first place awards in her category and baked various desserts when needed.

Patricia’s favorite hobbies included winter skiing, reading, and golf. She was married to James for 49 years, who preceded her in death in June 2018. Pat was always a loving, giving, and caring soul to her friends and family. We will miss Pat’s kindness and wonderful smile!

She is survived by her sons, Steven and John, grandsons Kaj and Riley, her brother Tim Hedahl and sister-in-law Lynn, her sister-in-law Leslie Walker and family, and brother-in-law, Joe Ullom and family.

The service will be held at 11:00 am on May 4, 2024, at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89121. A gift of life celebration will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service.
