With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Olson and Curtis families announce the passing of our dear and most loved wife, Grammie, sister, brother-in-law, auntie, and friend.
Peri Marie Olson, 63, unexpectedly passed away on February 17, 2023, at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Peri was born in Grand Forks, ND to Robert and Marie (Enlow) Baumgartner in 1960. She grew up in Arvilla, ND with her two siblings, William Jacob Baumgartner and her sister Roberta (Bobbi) Baumgartner (Curtis). Peri attended Larimore High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Scott Olson in 1975.
Peri loved to exercise, spend time with her husband and adopted granddaughter, travel to see her sister and nieces and nephews, and take care of her many pets that she either rescued or adopted. She was a successful businesswoman who ran her own company for over 30 years.
Peri’s eternal gift to her family was a fierce and compassionate love spanning from her husband and granddaughter to her sister and her nieces and nephews. Her authentic devotion and charity to those closest to her have been the driving force in those relationships. She frequently joked that she was “the glue that held the family together”. We all knew she truly was.
Peri had a strong faith in her Lord and lived with the assurance that her real home is with Christ in Heaven. She was always ready to talk about this special relationship with strangers, friends, and family.
Peri is survived by her husband of 48 years, Scott Olson; her daughter, Lisa Olson: her grandchildren, Briana Olson age 23, whom she and Scott adopted, Dakota age 10, her sister Bobbi (Dennis) Curtis; nieces and nephews, Joshua and Monica and Emilia Curtis, Julianna Curtis, Jeremiah and Sofia Curtis, Jeff, Jill, Robin and Cindy, Jessica and Desiree.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
